About Street Jam @ Yew Tee
SGX Skateboarding presents “Street Jam @ Yew Tee” , the first ever skateboarding competition back into the heartlands. We’re taking over Yew Tee Multi-purpose Hardcourt on 3rd September 2022, creating an outlet for the youth to be immerse in skateboarding while strengthening the bond with the community.
We’re bringing the excitement and buzz of skateboarding competition of all ages, to the general public, showcasing the culture and diversity that is the skateboarding community. There will be tons of programming that will go down on 3rd September, from Expression and Craft Stations, Skateboarding Clinics by Skateboarding Academy, Street Jam and 3ft Mini Ramp contest, for people from diverse background ,both skateboarding enthusiasts nationwide and residents of Yew Tee to enjoy skateboarding related activities and be a part of skateboarding festivities.
Street Jam echoes values of passion, courage and innovation. Through Street Jam, skaters spark passion and desire to compete after a long hiatus of covid. Providing the skaters with this platform within the heartland will knit the community closer, building trust and harmony. Skateboarding teaches us to build confidence in our daily lives. Falling once and getting up will make our youths of tomorrow courageous, confident and gritty. In line with the 'Bring Sport Back' initiative, this skateboarding competition will allow more to participate. We are excited to have a Digital Scoring System, used in international contest.
Street Jam pledges to heed Singapore Green Plan 2030, Sport Green Plan to reduce sporting resources and initiatives and will go digital on event day to reduce carbon footprint as part of YouthCreates innovation. There will be a Craft station where you be part of Sport Green plan movement, called “Repurpose through Expression”. We encourage everyone to “BYOB” Bring Your Own Water bottles as there will be designated water station in the event space.

Is there an age requirement/limit?
Everyone from the age of 7 and above is able to participate. (Born in 2014 or earlier)Can I take part in more than contest category?
Depending on the total number of registered participants, you may be able to take part in more than one contest category if schedule doesn’t clash.Can I compete with my Longboard or Pennyboard?

We have partnered up with Skate Academy to bring a Free Skateboarding Clinic where Singaporeans from all walks of life, can bond and get to know one another. As Singapore's regulations towards the Covid-19 situation ease, it is the perfect time for Singaporeans to reconnect with one another. During the lesson itself, the coach will assess the participant's capability on standing on the skateboard to prescribe appropriate level sessions.
FREE skate clinics for beginners. Skateboard and safety gear will be provided.
Duration - 1 hour per slot.

I booked the wrong time slot, could I switch to the time slot I want?
Please refer to your booking confirmation email. There is a link where you will be able to change the time slot based on availabilities.Do I have to be vaccinated to participate in the clinics?
NoCan I register on behalf on my friend?No, it would be best if all participants register for themselves. This is to ensure we have all participant's proper information in case of any emergency.
Can I register for more than 1 session?Yes you may!

Yes, this activity are in group sessions, age limit would be 10 yrs onwards.Do I need to buy a skateboard before signing up for a class?
We encourage you to bring your skateboard and safety gears if you have them. In instance you don't have any, we are able to provide you a set during your session.What time do I need to arrive?
Please standby at the venue 15 minutes before your session begins. Our volunteers and coaches will guide you at the entrance.What if I am late?
A 10 minutes grace period will be given. Your slot will be given to the next in line for ‘no show’.What to wear?
The right outfit ensures comfort and safety. We recommend breathable t-shirts and stretchable shorts for comfort. Active wears that encourage movements. -
Contest will be on hold till weather and skate area conditions permits.
Crew members will be on standby to assist in getting areas dry as soon as possible.
If weather continues, qualifying results will be final.
